Here’s to hoping Bacchanal continues its tradition of having up-and-coming artists on their stage before their Best New Artist Grammy nomination.

As expected, Spotify informed me that my 2024 top artist is Remi Wolf.

I’m comfortably seated in the top 0.05% of her listeners, a small decline from my 2021 position in the 0.001% of this group. It’s no surprise. I’ve spent a good chunk of my year listening to her Big Ideas album, adding several songs to my subway, walking, and plane playlists. Her single “Toro” has found its spot at the top of my most listened-to songs (leaving me afraid to post my top tracks because I simply have too many horny songs in there). Meanwhile, another album track, “Wave,” has become my top “Let me introduce you to her music!” pick.

Remi Wolf is still up-and-coming; most people I talk to have no idea who she is, and others have heard her music in passing but don’t really know what she’s cooking. Despite this lack of general knowledge, Remi’s audience is growing, and she’s had a successful tour with a multi-night residency in Brooklyn. Yet, she hasn’t quite reached that overnight success that graced the heads of Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter… making her a perfect choice for Bacchanal’s next headliner.

Bacchanal keeps its finger on the musical pulse and has historically chosen artists who carry some leverage and are on their way to mainstream success. The perfect indicator for this happens to be the historical likelihood of Bacchanal headliners being nominated for Best New Artist Grammys in the years following their Bacchanal debuts. I know it’s silly, but follow me.

Kanye West and John Legend were nominated in the immediate years after their Bacchanal headlining, with John Legend winning in 2006. Macklemore headlined in 2013 before winning his undeserved Best New Artist Grammy the following year. The Chainsmokers joined Lupe Fiasco at Bacchanal in 2014, and they were nominated for the same honor in 2017. Doechii headlined in 2022 and is nominated for Best New Artist and five other awards for the 2025 Grammys. Am I saying that Remi Wolf is getting a Best New Artist Grammy soon? I have no idea. She’s not even nominated this year. What I am saying isBacchanal, don’t you want to stay ahead of the Recording Academy once more? If so, choose Remi Wolf for Bacchanal.

With her stunning vocals, unique funk pop sound, and colorful aesthetic, I have no doubt Remi Wolf is the artist our generation has been missing and one whose music encapsulates would easily fit in with the Barnumbia listening experience: there are pick-me-ups for the sad days like “Cinderella” and “Photo ID” and situationship horror tracks like “Street You Live On” and “Sally.”

If Bacchanal is keen on choosing up-and-coming artists who have the potential to get Best New Artist Grammys in the following years, your pick is here: Remi Wolf. Check the big disclaimer below first though.

Disclaimer: I know you’re probably already in talks to choose someone no one actually wants to headline, but I will be incredibly upset if you mess up my senior year Bacchanal with a bad headliner pick. Choose wisely.
