President Beilock announces the CARES structure as part of changes to campus safety and wellbeing.

Six weeks ago, fellow students informed Bwog of an incident near Low Library, in which NYPD officers arrested a man on the Columbia campus. Bwog’s delay in publishing this story was on account of waiting for information from the NYPD and Public Safety—the latter of whom sent Bwog a statement this past week.

Columbia releases more details about course modalities and registration for Spring 2021.

President Lee Bollinger announced preliminary plans for Columbia University’s Spring semester today. Classes will remain largely virtual or hybrid, and only CC and SEAS seniors will be guaranteed on-campus housing.

Earlier today, the Ivy League Council announced that it is canceling all competition for the 2020-21 winter athletic season. Practices will continue to be allowed, provided that they are in compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional COVID-19 policies. 

Columbia University has pushed back registration times to allow more time for the school to finalize spring 2021 semester plans.

Barnard College has announced preliminary plans for the Spring 2021 semester, including the possibility of on-campus housing and in-person classes.

President Beilock has announced the creation of a new health and wellness center for the Barnard community, the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being, in an email shared this afternoon.

Barnard announced a new step in their reopening processes in an email sent to students this afternoon. The College will begin allowing students to reserve study spaces starting next Wednesday.

Columbia is investigating an incident of antisemitism on its Morningside campus reported late Tuesday in which a swastika was painted on the steps of Low Library. University Life condemned the incident in a statement on its website.
