In tonight’s Actual Wisdom, Cris Beam is a synchronized swimming rock star and resists anxiety and frustration. 1. Justify your existence in 30 words or fewer. Wow, you’re really hitting on a core anxiety for your first question; you really ask people to justify their very existence? Well, I guess I’d say that aside from […]
Toby Milstein, BC’14 and EIC of Her Campus Barnard, like many of us, was extremely upset by the shooting in Aurora this summer. Instead of just posting a Facebook status about her horror and sitting non-comprehendingly, however, she took action and started a campaign, combining politics with her love for fashion. She designed and produced a […]
Bwog kindly asks you to forget about our own terrible experience with graphic design for the next two minutes while we rail on someone else for embarrassing design in order to release our finals aggression. For those of you who haven’t been frantically checking SSOL for your grades, the login page is currently splashed with a gigantic […]
Barnard is hosting a forum tonight for members of the community to process and support each other through a discussion on last week’ tragic shooting in Newtown. In a message sent to the entire Barnard community President Spar writes that “While there are no easy answers, we hope that coming together in this way will […]
Need another finals pick-me-up? Yesterday we showed you The Morningsiders’ new video for their song “Empress.” Today, we bring you a video set to the Jeffers Win song “I Can’t Call You (I’m in the Army).” Columbia band, Columbia crew, and some Columbia landmarks for you to point at and say “OMG I’VE TOTALLY BEEN […]
This survival journal has been discovered in a dorm lounge, reminding us of the apocalyptic nature of this specific finals season. Despite losing our collective mind over (what is, essentially) this silliness of tests, it is comforting to see mention of other humans in this note, so at least the writer is not alone and […]
Tired of all this library-study-finals-eat-study-finals bullshit? So is Bwog. Come snooze in our bed for a while. Remember, you are infinitely more important than some dumb grade in a course. Finals. Pffft. You can go back to your crazy study lifestyle (don’t forget to keep us updated at tips@bwog.com!) after we’re done cuddling. Bwogline: An […]
We’re pulling towards the end here, but before the day of freedom must come the darkest of nights. Below, bravely captured by tipsters, are some harrowing images of hope, despair, and people sleeping on impractical surfaces: all the makings for a fine dark night of the soul. Study hard, but also go home and sleep.
Tonight’s Actual Wisdom has proof of blatant plagiarism, how unsophisticated Columbia students are, and a defiance of question 5. Meet Nancy Workman: 1. Justify your existence in 30 words or fewer. I’m quite possibly one of the bestest Core instructors you’ve never heard of. 2. Your claim to fame (what makes you special?): I’ve been […]
The Winter issue of The Blue & White is on campus now! It’s also on our website, theblueandwhite.org. Look for it in Lerner and Butler. Here, contributor Somer Omar profiles Jasmine Sudarkasa, a Campus Character. If you have not yet met Jasmine Sudarkasa, know that she wants to meet you. She thrives on being surrounded […]
The “bitches going crazy” tag has gotten a lot of action over the past week, proving that people are indeed losing their shit (as usual) this finals season. Common complaints have included people sleeping at their tables for hours on end, watching Netflix for hours on end, eating really pungent foods at their tables, and […]
Walking out of a final often feels uncertain at the best of times, and you have no idea just how well you did or didn’t do. Here are some handy flowcharts, carefully constructed for each discipline, to help you tell if you should rejoice or despair. Reposted because flowcharts never get old. Bwog’s Data Structures […]
