Congratulations are in order for Phi Beta Kappa’s new Barnard inductees, announced this morning, for Fall 2022! They will be officially inducted into the academic honors society this spring. The list of their full names and departments are below.

General Studies student Ashley Kim has passed away, according to emails from Dean Lisa Rosen-Metsch and Dean Cristen Kromm sent to the Columbia community this afternoon. 

President Bollinger has announced that Columbia University’s General Counsel, Jane Booth, will be retiring at the end of the Spring 2023 semester.

This afternoon, President Bollinger announced that Carol Becker, who has served as the Dean of the School of Arts since 2007, plans to step down at the end of the 2022-2023 academic year.

Barnard decided not to voluntarily recognize the Barnard RA Union in a meeting on Thursday, October 13, following a petition, rally, and over 800 emails of support.

On Wednesday, Barnard shared initial construction plans for the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation Center for Well-Being and the Roy and Diana Vagelos Science Center.

On Friday afternoon, members of Barnard’s newly-formed Resident Assistants Union (OPEIU Local 153) rallied outside Barnard Hall to highlight unfair working conditions and demand voluntary recognition.
