The Columbia Admission staff gathered at 3 pm on College Walk today to send out their decisions to Early Decision applicants. It was a cheerful event, with a quick “Roar, Lion, Roar” performed by the hard-working people who got us all into this place. Decisions come out online at 5 P.M. Eastern time today. Good […]
I lost an envelope without postage that contained a pair of broken headphones that needed to be returned. Part of the the return address is 4716 Lerner Hall. If you find it please email me at nnn2108@columbia.edu.
Today is the last day of Tuesday/Thursday classes, so make sure to cherish these precious last moments with your professors. Bwog is sure that they are saying all sorts of crazy/touching/hilarious/inspiring things to try to bring their courses to a close and leave a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of their students. Don’t […]
It’s market time again! Go improve your quality of life during the dark days of finals studying with some delicious market goods. The Columbia market is open year-round on Sundays and Thursdays and as always, accepts credit, debit, and EBT. On Sundays ONLY, the market collects food scraps for compost from 8am to 1pm, and […]
At their December 5th meeting, the Activities Board (ABC) resolved to commit their efforts during Spring semester to a comprehensive reform of the structure and policies of the Board. The most significant immediate impact of this process is that, in order to redirect their efforts toward reform, the Appeal and New Group Recognition processes will […]
Snoop Lion earned more comment karma than Obama in his amazing reddit AMA yesterday. His only advice for young college student was “make sure u graduate”. Remember that.(Reddit) Scientists are having fun making cute videos about DNA that spells DNA after “accidentally” discovering a hydrogel that will automatically return to the shape of the vessel […]
The winter issue of The Blue & White hits campus next Monday. To satisfy your cravings, here’s a piece by Will Holt that explores a new collegiate phenomenon. During the first few weeks of the semester, passersby on Broadway may have noticed something peculiar parked outside the Barnard gates: a banged-up, magenta RV with the […]
CC senior Karl Mayer is a political science major, Sigma Nu brother, and one of the former screenwriters for the American “Skins,” a.k.a. that show where teenagers go apeshit. Karl is, by his own account, “one of those people who’s obsessed with storytelling,” (read: talented) and sat down with Bwog to tell the story of […]
If you felt like you were being watched this morning, it’s probably because students from the Success Academy were debating whether or not you qualified as someone “walking with friends.” Seems fun, right? You could get three in a row by encountering a hipster (coffee/instrument/backpack), an athlete with musical inclinations (sweatshirt/instrument/exercising), or by being almost […]
We sent Bwog’s decoration devotee Roberta Barnett to check out Columbia’s own North Pole in EC. She wasn’t disappointed with her findings: It’s finals holiday season, and the days (and nights in Butler) are full of warmth and brightness and clichés! For those of us who haven’t stopped studying except maybe to check Bwog, shower, […]
While crossing Broadway at 115th street, a tipster overheard this exchange between two “somewhat nerdy” men, narrowing down the possibilities to roughly half of Columbia’s community. Guy 1: “Trust me, after living in this city for four years, I’ve seen everything. Everything. One day I was in the subway, and a woman just took off […]
