On Wednesday, Staff Writer Emily Yi attended the second night of the premiere of Hahn Rowe’s Something About the Weather at the Lenfest Center for the Arts. The work is part of Columbia University School of the Arts’ year-long public engagement series, themed “To Transform”. 

On Friday, February 3, Events Editor Ava Slocum attended the opening of Columbia’s Black Theatre Ensemble’s staged reading of A Raisin in the Sun, running through February 5 in the Lerner Black Box.

On Monday, December 12, Arts Editor Grace Novarr and Events Editor Ava Slocum attended the one and only performance of How the Grinch Saved XMAS! 17: A Midwinter Night’s Fever Dream.

Arts Editor Grace Novarr reviews Camp Cattywampus, an original play by Tess Inderbitzin (BC ‘25) and Abigail Duclos (BC ‘23), which ran in the Glicker-Milstein Theatre on November 18 and 19.

On Thursday, April 28, Staff Writers Kate Mekechuk and Simon Panfilio attended KCST’s performance of The Knight of the Burning Pestle, running April 28, 29, and 30th at 8 pm in front of Kent Hall.

Students of Columbia’s Sound Art MFA program presented installations in the Music and Arts Library. Staff Writer Celia Bernhardt learns what sound art is and describes a few beautiful pieces from the show.

In a pure proclamation of the poetic process, Milstein’s Movement Lab hosted a poetry reading and open-mic night this Thursday. With guest performer and former NYC Youth Poet Laureate Ramya Ramana leading the event, Bwog beginner Marino Bubba got more than he bargained for in this display of artistry, intimacy, and growth.

This past Wednesday, Staff Writer Ava Slocum attended an online reading of Asiimwe Deborah Kawe’s play Appointment with gOD, presented as part of the 2021 Columbia University School of the Arts International Play Reading Festival through the Lenfest Center for the Arts.

Last Sunday, Staff Writer Samantha Seiff attended the event “Tea and Conversation with Stage Manager Narda E. Alcorn,” hosted by the Barnard College Theatre Department and moderated by Professor Alice Reagan.

Last Friday, Staff Writer Samantha Seiff and Editor Solomia Dzhaman attended “Zoom-In,” a showcase of MFA Film and Media Studies theses. 

Staff Writer and lapsed musician Jeff Davis attended a live virtual performance at the Lantern in the Lenfest Center for the Arts last Tuesday of Brandee Younger and Dezron Douglas, a harp and bass jazz duo.
