Bwog really and truly received this email from a curious freshperson. Dear Bwog, I’m new here, CC ’15, and I was wondering whether it is normal that there is a stench in Butler’s 4th floor near the elevators so terrible it is as if the books themselves have died and now reek of rottingbook flesh. […]

Every war produces heroes, and this summer’s battle over delayed housing assignments that broke out on the Facebook page for the Class of 2015 is no exception. Bwog is profiling some the most famous and infamous personalities involved that social media shitstorm. In Top of Their Class, you can read about some of the people […]

Rite Aid wants shoppers concerned about “wellness” to spend more money. Is it price discrimination or just a misunderstanding?

It’s official: Columbia College has a new Dean, James Valentini. What possibilities! We’ve got PrezBo, KevSho/Ke$ho, and DSpar, and now it’s time to name our dear new Dean. Leave your suggestions in the comments. The winner gets a Milano sandwich, a hug and eternal glory. Let the hazing begin…

Last night, Bwog spotted a public safety officer guarding the door to Theta’s brownstone. We’ve learned from tipsters that an unidentified male walked into Theta yesterday, pretended to be friends with one of the girls, stole three four laptops, and left. Later that evening, Director of Residential Programs Stephanie Nixon sent an email to the […]

Unexpected acts: On Thursday night, NYU held a “mystery concert” (featuring Flying Lotus, Gang Gang Dance, and Light Asylum) which got rave reviews. At Columbia, we still have to plan our concerts months in advance. (NYULocal) Unexpected calendars: Forget firemen. Now you can check out hot New York City bus drivers and semi-famous Republican women. (NYDN, […]

After offering a short biography, Valentini writes that he has been heavily involved with the College ever since he came to Columbia, and strongly values both the Core Curriculum and need-based financial aid for College students. He […]

Keep your eyes open for the September issue of The Blue & White, coming soon to campus. Until then, Bwog will honor our heritage/amorous affair with our mother magazine by posting highlights of the upcoming issue online. Among the treats to look forward to: a litany of bizarre and outdated freshman hazing rituals, a brief history of […]

The weather cooperated and spirits were high for today’s improvisational event. Never before have so many poorly dressed kids stumbled around campus blithely unaware of the broader world around them while completely cocooned in the vibrant audio world produced by their ubiquitous white Apple headphones. And that’s an accomplishment considering the quick degradation of all standards during finals season. Nevertheless, […]

The Activities Fair is now! Go outside and get some sun, free food (Dinosaur BBQ and more! Huge lines forming already), frisbees, and other things that will allure you to sign up for mailing lists. Be sure to stop by the Blue and White table as well, on Butler Walk near the Sundial.

As promised, Bwog dragged itself out of bed for the 10th annual Fun Run earlier this morning to report on the University’s attempt to include us less able-bodied in the athletic community. PrezBo himself was truckin’ along in a shuffle, working up a sweat alongside the students, his hair uncharacteristically unkempt, his Timex at the […]
