We’re kicking off our housing coverage with a look at one of Barnard’s oldest residence halls, Hewitt! Situated in the quad alongside Brooks, Sulzberger, and Reid, this hall hosts mostly sophomores and juniors with some seniors. If you’re looking for a guaranteed single close to campus, this is a great choice for you.

Next up in our Barnard housing lineup is 116—the middle child of the 600s. Not considered as responsible as 600, but also not as adorable and exonerable (word?) as 620. Here we go!

Want to live in a single by the park that has a peaceful, off-campus feel? River Hall might be for you, especially if you’re a senior or a junior with a half-decent lottery number!

Woodbridge: underrated or just unheard of? You decide!

Juniors and seniors who want their own space, this one’s for you: Watt offers beautiful apartment-style studio singles, studio doubles, and one- or two-bedroom apartments. And all in a prime location!

EC aka the Promised Land. An EC high-rise suite is the cream of the crop for seniors who want to live with their friends with a nice view and don’t mind a little freshman vomit every now and then. 

Schapiro tends to get overlooked, but its convenient location and decent amenities make it a good option for sophomores scared of McBain and juniors seeking singles. 

For transfers and rising sophomores and juniors at Barnard, Elliott Hall is a convenient, if small, dorm located on Claremont.
